Dr. Lloyd Abbey
Dr. Abbey is the owner of General Veterinary Hospital. He has been serving the community with animal care since 1977. With degrees in agriculture and veterinary medicine, Dr. Abbey is equipped to provide ongoing veterinary care to his patients and the community. He genuinely enjoys carrying on the traditions of the founding veterinarians at our animal hospital as well. Dr. Abbey is a proud father and grandfather, and he is also the loving pet parent of Hetty, his Shih Tzu. When he isn’t working, Dr. Abbey enjoys gardening, working on old cars, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Many people don’t know this, but Dr. Abbey is responsible for the flowers seen at the animal hospital every year!
Dr. Lucia Vits
Dr. Vits earned her undergraduate degree from University Austral of Chile and her Master of Clinical Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in the USA. She has been part of our team since 2009. Dr. Vits’s family consists on her two sons, her husband, and her two cats Frederick (Freddy) and Josephine. Dr. Vits enjoys reading in different languages, (she is a fluent reader and speaker in Spanish, French, Flemish, and of course English), travelling, and enjoying outdoor activities with her boys. She enjoys visiting historical sites and national parks all over Canada.

Dr. Dana Snell
Dr. Snell received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta, and her DVM from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. She is the newest member of our veterinary team, and she’s excited to provide care to our four-legged patients. Dr. Snell enjoys working with our friendly and supportive staff, and she likes knowing that her work makes a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Dr. Snell was recently married to her husband, Tom, and in her free times she loves playing the guitar, reading, and running.
